    At his death, between July 9, 1821 and July 19, 1821, the first date on the inventory papers of his estate, Benjamin Lavender McMaham owned 1000 acres, 7 slaves and other farm and personal possessions appraised at approximately $5500. His entire estate was left to his wife, Maryann, to be divided among their children at her death, or remarriage.
